Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR)

MCG Electrics offers An Electrical Installation Condition Report (or EICR), which is a complete examination of the electrical installation and electrical safety within a building. An EICR may be required when buying or selling a property, running a small business, or a homeowner looking to have a safe and secure electrical installation in their home. Private landlords must have an EICR carried out every 5 years (or prior to a tenancy beginning) in order to provide a safe and secure electrical installation to their tenant. An EICR will be carried out by a qualified electrician (like ourselves) who will examine the electrical installation including; consumer unit, earthing, bonding, switches, light fittings, sockets and any other electrical items within the property to identify any potential electrical hazards. Upon completion of the report a safety assessment of the electrical installation will be given. Any faults identified will also be noted. For landlords, any hazards (noted as C1 or C2) must be rectified within 28 days to ensure the installation remains safe and secure.
